Secrets of the Arava” is a small, enchanting workshop that produces soaps and cosmetic products made from natural ingredients with important therapeutic properties. The idea for the soaps began at the Yotvata Dairy, as a way to make use of a material discharged from the machinery that is suitable for soap production, while promoting a green and healthy environment. The workshop was established during the COVID period through the initiative of several kibbutz members, and it serves as a source of employment for seniors, people with disabilities, and kibbutz children, as part of community contribution programs and a broader social worldview.
Einav Galanti, a professional cosmetician, manages the workshop and produces the soaps with meticulous craftsmanship and great passion. All products pass under her magnifying glass, from the initial idea to final execution. The products are created out of love for nature and, among other things, incorporate local plants from the southern Arava.
At the workshop store you can find fragrant soaps based on jojoba oil and seeds, date seeds, aloe vera, carrot, green clay, shea butter, cocoa, coconut, and more. Alongside the soaps, the shop also offers aromatic candles, reed diffusers, anti-mosquito candles, solid soaps in various shapes, soap flakes, and additional products.
In the small workshop, Einav also conducts customized workshops for all ages, including natural soap-making workshops, bubble workshops, spa product workshops, and lip balm–making workshops.
Regarding the vision of the workshop, Einav says:
“My dream is for the soap business to grow and become a regional source of employment that promotes social equality
